How do I know that everything is set up correctly?
If you open getbirdfeeder.com you should also see a list of your recently collected bookmarks.
Does this also work for the mobile apps?
Yes, we collect your bookmarks from any X or Bluesky app, on the web, iOS, or Android. Nostr bookmarks are collected the same way once you link your npub, regardless of which client you used to save them.
Do you support Nostr?
Yes, with one difference from X and Bluesky: Nostr has no sign-in flow, so you can't sign up with it directly. Sign up with X or Bluesky first, then paste your public key (npub) into Settings to link your Nostr bookmarks into the same archive. Birdfeeder only ever reads your public bookmark list from a handful of relays — it never asks for or stores your private key (nsec).
What's the difference between the monthly and yearly plans?
Both plans include the weekly summary and full-text search. Monthly captures every bookmark you save from the moment you sign up. Yearly does that too, plus a one-time import of your entire back catalogue, so your whole bookmark history is searchable and backed up.
Why is the full archive import only on the yearly plan?
Importing your entire back catalogue means fetching a lot of data from the platform's API. On X that costs us per request, and doing it for someone who cancels after a single month costs more than the subscription brings in, so it wouldn't be sustainable to offer it monthly. Tying the full import to the yearly plan keeps that cost in balance across the platforms we support.
Do you also support private posts?
Yes, posts are collected using your X or Bluesky account. If you can see the post from your account it'll be included in your weekly email.
Can Birdfeeder post on my behalf?
No. Birdfeeder asks for read-only access to your bookmarks and profile on X, Bluesky, and Nostr. It can never post, like, follow, or send messages on your behalf.
What happens to my bookmarks if I cancel?
The weekly digest and new imports pause, but everything you already collected stays stored. While you are on the yearly plan you can export all of it at any time. If you want your data removed entirely, email us and we'll delete your account and bookmarks.
How do I cancel?
Open Settings, then Manage subscription, which takes you to the billing portal where you can cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We don't offer prorated refunds for partial periods.
Can I export my bookmarks?
Yes. Export all your bookmarks to CSV, TSV, JSON, or Excel from the Settings page. Exporting is part of the yearly Birdfeeder plan.
Is my data private?
Your bookmarks are private by default. Only the ones you explicitly mark public appear on your profile. Data is stored on servers in the EU. See our privacy policy for the details.
