A Nostr bookmark list is often just a plain, unencrypted list of note ids sitting on your relays — anyone who knows how to query it can already see the raw list. What Nostr doesn't give you is a clean way to present it. Birdfeeder adds that on a bookmark-by-bookmark basis, so you decide exactly which saved notes show up on a page worth sharing and which ones stay out of it.
Every bookmark in Birdfeeder carries its own visibility toggle, regardless of which network it came from. Flip a Nostr note to public and it joins your Birdfeeder profile; the rest stay off the page. The first time you make one public we spin up a public Birdfeeder profile for you automatically, so visitors get a curated page of the notes you actually want to share instead of your entire raw bookmark list.
